It gives the four of us great pleasure to write about CBT-BI—about why this is a special place and why we are happy to have people join us here.

CBTBI is the result of a merger several years ago between two wonderful predecessors: Congregation Beth Israel in Woodbury and Congregation B’nai Tikvah in Turnersville.  Some of us belonged to one synagogue or the other and all of us have enjoyed the merged entity for many years.  What we love about CBTBI is that it works for all of us.  We are good friends and an effective leadership team, but on a personal level we look for different things from our synagogue.  We all find what we are looking for here and we are sure that you will, too.

Many of our members join to find a Jewish home—for worship, services, education, and friends who share traditions.  CBT-BI has regular worship services, led by our dynamic Rabbi Jordi, a growing and  loved Hebrew School led by Principal Wendy and an extraordinary array of other activities that include Sisterhood, Men’s Club, PTO, choir, book club, and so many more.

Our building is special to us and we are working hard to make it even more inviting and welcoming to all. We are committed to a variety of social action projects and try to live what we say, so we are in the process of getting solar panels for our roof as one of our tangible efforts to make the world a better place.

Please come and meet us. Spend some time. Enjoy our festivals and activities.  Pray and learn with us.  Call us any time to learn more about this very special place. Welcome to our family.Shalom
