Fundraising Programs

CBT-BI has many ways for it's membership and supporters to help fund our programs. Often, these programs cost you nothing, and can even save you money, while benefiting the synagogue.

We encourage you to learn about these opportunities and participate in as many programs as you can.

TD Bank Affinity Program

TD Bank’s Affinity Membership Program, provides our synagogue the opportunity to earn annual cash contributions, at no expense to our membership.  We’re thrilled with the ease of participating in this program and that there is no cost to our organization or our members. In fact, the more you save, the more we earn!

More information on the TD Bank Affinity Program is available here.

Viridian Energy Program

Sign up for Viridian's reduced-cost energy program and save money on your electricity and natural gas. For each household that signs up, CBT-BI receives a percentage back on their revenue.

More information on Viridian's Energy Program can be found here.

Gift Card / Scrip Program

Over the course of more than 20 years at CBT-BI, the Gift Card / Scrip program has the potential to be one of the synagogue’s best fundraisers.  We purchase Gift Cards from a wide variety of local businesses (like Shoprite, Acme, Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Best Buy, and dozens more) and resell them to you.  Each business gives back a percentage of the face value of the Gift Card to CBT-BI; from 1% to 25%.  All you have to do is buy the Gift Cards for stores you buy from, and use them when you purchase.  Though this is something you need to think about in advance, we make it easy to get Gift Cards.  “Stations” are available during school hours and at most activities and programs.  We’ll also deliver Gift Cards to your door! All you have to do is ask.  This program costs you nothing, but yields big returns for the synagogue.

More information on the Gift Card program is available here.

Restaurant Fundraisers

Everyone has to eat.  Why not eat somewhere that gives back to the synagogue?  Once a month or so, we plan a day/evening where synagogue members, family and friends can have a delicious meal and meet outside of the synagogue.  Restaurants in this program keep track of sales during a specified time, and donate a percentage of that revenue back to CBT-BI.  Talk about “just deserts”, what a delicious way to support the synagogue!  To find out when the next restaurant fundraiser is, consult the website calendar or call the synagogue office. And if you use Gift Cards to pay for your meal, the synagogue gets a double benefit!

Entertainment Book

For just $30, the Entertainment Book provides hundreds of dollars in coupon savings for the places you already shop and dine.  Purchase this book once, and you keep saving all year long.  For each book sold, the synagogue receives a percentage of the book sale.  And best of all, you save too!

Community Directory

Once a year, CBT-BI publishes its annual Community Directory, a fundraiser that has been one of the best in past years.  Inside the Directory we provide news about the goings on at CBT-BI and give the membership an opportunity to honor children, grandchildren and loved ones.  But mostly its about local businesses that choose to support us by placing an ad in the Directory.  You can support the Directory by either honoring your loved ones or by soliciting ads from the merchants you already visit.  Either way, it’s easy to do, because you’ll be asking for ads from local merchants and professionals you already use.  Directories are available to the membership in the synagogue library.

Annual Affair

Once a year, CBT-BI holds a major fundraising event at which members, supporters and friends mingle.  In recent years, it’s been the Golf Outing and Dinner.  Other years have featured Banquets and Closing Affairs.  These events generally include auctions and raffles which are the major source of revenue for the event.  But the big draw for these events is simply the fun.
